Professional experience
Dr Tulasi Goriparthi MD is an Attending Psychiatrist currently working in Banner Medical Group with over 20 years of clinical expertise in the field of Mental health.
Dr. Tulasi Goriparthi was born in 1977 in Hyderabad, a city in Southern part of India. Born in a family with mental illness, Dr Goriparthi discovered his passion for understanding the human mind and body systems early on, leading him to Medical school. After completing his Medical School in 2003, he migrated to The United Kingdom, to pursue his career in Psychiatry.
During Psychiatry training in Lancashire, England, Dr Goriparthi gained expertise in treating conditions like psychosis, depression, suicidality, anxiety etc. Continued psychiatry practice in a Crisis Team in England deepened his knowledge of mental health crisis, psychiatric emergencies and primary psychiatric interventions, complemented by research and published work.
Dr. Goriparthi completed another Psychiatry training program in 2018 in Mount Sinai health system in New York City. This further deepened his knowledge in integrating psychotherapy, medication, and holistic approaches into psychiatric treatments. Dr Goriparthi, then worked as Medical director in Community Mental health Centre in Lubbock TX and then in Banner Hospital system in Phoenix AZ. Dr Goriparthi is Medical Director of Inpatient Psychiatry services at Banner Thunderbird Medical centre.
Dr Goriparthi published his work in peer review Journal about ADHD and Suicide. He reviews manuscripts submitted for publication in Psychiatric Journals including Community Mental health Journal, Journal of studies on Alcohol and drugs, Public Library of Science, Psychiatry Frontiers etc. He also provides expert advice to Texas Medical Board and Arizona Medical Board about Physician complaints and Standards of Practice. Dr Goriparthi has trained Psychiatry residents and Medical students in Texas Tech University and is currently pursuing his teaching interests with University of Arizona. Dr Goriparthi raises awareness about mental health by writing mental health blogs and participating in TV and other media interviews. As a mentor and advocate, Dr Goriparthi teaches psychiatry, promotes mental health awareness, and supports equitable care through community engagement.
Dr Goriparthi champions integrative care, combining mindfulness, nutrition, and physical activity with traditional treatments. He believes in advocacy efforts improved access to mental health services, education, and funding in underserved areas. Dr Goriparthi believes mental health is key to overall well-being and is committed to empowering individuals with the right resources and support to thrive. Through
innovative care, advocacy, and mentorship, Dr. Goriparthi has left a lasting impact on patients and the field of mental health, promoting compassionate and accessible care for all.
