Biography

Professional experience
Dr. Jason E. Curry, DO, is an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Vice Chair of Education at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson. He also serves as the Program Director for the Psychiatry Residency Program.
Dr. Curry earned his Bachelor of Arts from Saint John's University in 2006 and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from A.T. Still University's Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010. He completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Arizona in 2014 and has been a faculty member since then, taking on the role of Residency Program Director in 2015.
Board-certified in both adult psychiatry and addiction medicine, Dr. Curry focuses his clinical work on outpatient care, with special interests in addiction, mood disorders, and trauma-informed care. His research and clinical interests include education, physician development, wellness, and resilience.
An active member of the professional community, Dr. Curry is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, serves on the Executive Council of the Arizona Psychiatric Society, represents Arizona in the APA Assembly for Area 7, and is a Board of Trustees member of the APA Political Action Committee. He is committed to advocating for patients and colleagues at various levels.
Dr. Curry has received several honors, including the University of Arizona Department of Psychiatry's Senior Teaching Faculty Award for 2019-2020 and the College of Medicine's Commitment to Underserved People Faculty Service Award in 2020. He was also recognized as a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association in 2018.
In his role as Residency Program Director, Dr. Curry emphasizes a learning environment characterized by openness, mutual effort, congenial competition, and intentional evolution.
