Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy

Adriana Manygoats de Julio, MD, MSPH

Adriana Manygoats de Julio, MD, MSPH, DFAPA Dr. Adriana Manygoats de Julio is a board-certified neuropsychiatrist with over a decade of clinical and leadership experience. They serve as Medical Director for Aurora Mental Health and Recovery's Intensive Outpatient Clinics in Denver and as a Neuropsychiatrist at Logan Correctional Center in Illinois. Their expertise spans traumatic brain injury, PTSD, functional neurological disorders, and severe mental illness, with board certifications in both Neurology and Psychiatry, and additional training in adolescent and young adult psychiatry.
Dr. Manygoats de Julio completed a Neuropsychiatry Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, a psychiatry residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, and holds an MD from the American University of the Caribbean. They also earned an MS in Public Health from Tulane University and a certificate in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. Their diverse background includes military service, research, and academic contributions through over 20 publications and conference presentations.
They hold leadership roles as Assembly Representative for the APA’s American Indian Caucus, Chair of the Colorado Psychiatric Society DEI Committee, and executive member of the Denver Medical Society. A passionate advocate for Indigenous mental health, Dr. Manygoats de Julio’s research focuses on the mental health effects of climate change and social determinants in Native communities. They are committed to advancing equitable care, expanding psychedelic therapies, and bridging gaps in mental health access for underserved populations.
