Ashvin Sood, MD

Ashvin Sood, MD Dr. Ashvin Sood is a board-certified psychiatrist with expertise in both adult and child/adolescent psychiatry. He completed medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University and trained at NYU and NewYork-Presbyterian/Cornell-Columbia. His clinical focus includes ADHD, anxiety, depression, and parent management strategies. Dr. Sood is passionate about youth mental health education and public outreach. He serves as Educational Lead at PsychChild and is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry’s Media Committee. Through his TikTok platform, “TakingControlz,” he delivers accessible, evidence-based content on mental health and media literacy to teens and families. Blending clinical experience with a strong interest in media and technology, Dr. Sood explores how social platforms influence emotional development in youth. He advocates for balanced screen use and empowers parents and educators with practical tools to support children’s mental well-being in a digital world.
