Advancing Interventional Psychiatry: Current Practices and Future Horizons

Ahmed Elmaadawi, MD

Ahmed Elmaadawi, MD Ahmed Elmaadawi, MD is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in interventional psychiatry. As part of the expert team at Banner–University Medicine in Phoenix, he is dedicated to building a center of excellence in psychiatry. Dr. Elmaadawi serves as the Director of the Division of Interventional Psychiatry and is actively shaping the future of the field as the Fellowship Director of Interventional Psychiatry and an Associate Professor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. Double board-certified in Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Elmaadawi completed medical school and his residency at Mansoura University Faculty of Medicine in Egypt, followed by a fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Rochester, MN. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Elmaadawi has played a pivotal role in numerous national research trials and grants focused on esketamine, ketamine, vagus nerve stimulation, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). He has published more than 50 research articles and is a sought-after speaker, providing lectures, seminars, and training on TMS and ketamine therapy.
